Féile an Phobail BelfastInvitational Plein Air Landscape Festival

I was delighted to be invited to take part in the four-hour Féile an Phobail landscape festival, held amidst the stunning scenery of Black Mountain in Belfast. Having been a viewer of ‘Sky Landscape Artist of the Year’, I’d often wondered what it would be like to paint in such a competitive setting.

Although the online judging format had its drawbacks, the experience was incredibly rewarding.

I’m very satisfied with my final artwork, and surprisingly, the time pressure actually enhanced my loose, drawing-focused approach.”
